Removing the outs reel
segment assembly from the machine.
The new reel
strip cannot be applied while it is in the game.

1. Remove the playfield and turn it upside down in the cabinet to
prevent damage.
2. Unhook the spring attaching the reel segment to the playfield
shutter slide.
3. Some games have a cotter pin fastener and some have a hairpin
fastener holding the reel segment on its axle. Remove this fastener so
the reel segment is free to slide off the axle..
4. Remove the two wood screws attaching the outs advance
mechanism to the playfield.
CAUTION: BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE ATTACHMENT OF THE OUTS
MECHANISM TO THE CENTER TRAP DOOR SUPPORT CASTING. THIS CASTING IS POT
METAL AND CAN BE BROKEN VERY EASILY AND REPLACEMENTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

5. Slide the advance mechanism toward
the center of the playfield while
holding the reel segment so it will slide off the axle.
6. The reel segment is now free. Replace the wood screws to prevent
damage.

7. Completely clean the reel segment surface where the strip will be
applied (I use a wire wheel).
.
8. Paint the surface with an oil based
metal primer so the glue will hold (let it dry thoroughly)

9. Apply water soluble craft glue to the back side of the strip.

10. Place the strip on the reel segment and press down and remove
excess glue with a
damp paper towel. (DON'T GET IT UPSIDE DOWN, USE THIS PHOTO FOR
YOUR GUIDE).

11. Attach clamps and let the glue dry.
12. Carefully paint the edges black if necessary to cover the primer.
13. Install and test.
Good
luck. If you have a problem and destroy the strip let me know and I'll
send you another at no charge.
